School District Appoints New Assistant Principal of Castro Valley High School

J.C. Farr was selected to fill the vacancy created by the former assistant principal Jesse Woodward who was promoted to principal of Marshall Elementary School.

The Board of Education appointed J.C. Farr as the Assistant Principal at effective August 6, 2012.

Mr. Farr was selected to fill the Castro Valley High School Assistant Principal
vacancy created by the to Principal of .

Mr. Farr has been an Assistant Principal and Summer School Principal at Bancroft Middle School in the San Leandro Unified School District since 2007.

Prior to his work as an administrator in San Leandro, Mr. Farr taught history, served as the Content Lead Teacher and Social Science Department Chair, and coached high school basketball in West Contra Costa Unified School District.

Mary Ann Valles, Principal of Castro Valley High School said, “I am happy to
welcome J.C. Farr to Castro Valley High School. His experience at both the high school and middle school level will be invaluable. He is student focused, creative, and eager to explore a variety of strategies to achieve results. J. C. Farr is an excellent addition to the high school administrative team.”

Mr. Farr earned his Masters in Educational Leadership, a Bachelor of Arts in
Political Science and Administrative Credential from the University of California,
Berkeley. His single subject teaching credential in Physical Education was earned at California State University, East Bay.

Mr. Farr will begin serving as the Assistant Principal at Castro Valley High School August 6.
