Alameda County Sheriff's Office aided Shasta County Sheriff's Office on Thursday by arresting two suspects in San Lorenzo who were allegedly involved in a 1986 Shasta County murder.
Richard William Mesirow, 46, who reportedly was living at 16111 Via Harriet in San Lorenzo, was arrested at his home around 7:30 a.m. . Charles Vincent Perez, 56, was arrested on the 15000 block of Via Rivera according to an online arrest reports website.

Detective Brian Jackson of Shasta County police said that through review of the case and its evidence from 1986, police were able to reopen the cold case homocide. Both Mesirow and Perez became persons of interest and police eventually obtained warrents for their arrest, according to Jackson.
He was unable to answer further questions regarding the murder case itself because it is still undergoing investigation.
