Alleged Drug Seller Flees From Concord Police

Police received a call Tuesday from a local resident stating someone was selling drugs out of his vehicle on Camara Circle. A chase ensued.

CONCORD - A call about drug activity in Concord on Tuesday morning led to a pursuit and the arrest of five men, according to police.

The incident began when Concord police officers were dispatched at 10:49 a.m. on a resident's call about a man selling drugs out of his vehicle at Camara Circle. Officers found the vehicle and discovered contraband inside of it.

While investigating the vehicle, a suspect attempted to flee the scene and a foot pursuit ensued.

Police said the man ran through an apartment complex and then slid under an open hole in a fence that led to a parking lot Las Montanas Market at 2961 Monument Blvd.

The suspect then tried to escape by jumping into the backseat of a waiting vehicle occupied by more men, police said.

All the men were detained without further incident.

Police said a concealed handgun was found on the man that fled and illegal narcotics were found in both the original vehicle and the vehicle he later entered.

Five men were placed under arrest on suspicion of firearms violations and drug possession, as well as resisting and delaying a police officer.

They are currently being held at the Concord Police Department's jail.
