City Seeks Applicants for John Muir/Mt. Diablo Community Health Fund Board

Applications are now available for residents who would like to apply to serve as a Concord representative on the John Muir/Mt. Diablo Community Health Fund Board. The City has two open seats on the board, which was established to distribute $1 million annually in grants funded through John Muir Health to assist community-based, nonprofit organizations that provide access to health care for high-need, under-served populations.

The John Muir/Mt. Diablo Community Health Fund (CHF) consists of ten members. Five are appointed by the John Muir Association, two are appointed by the City of Pleasant Hill and three are appointed by the City of Concord. One of the Concord appointees is Councilmember Laura Hoffmeister, leaving two seats open to Concord residents. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. The initial term of office will be one or two years. In subsequent years, appointees will serve for three years.

The deadline for applications is Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 5 p.m. in the City Clerk's Office. The City Council Committee on Neighborhood, Community Services & Education will review applications and interview candidates on Sept. 28. The City Council is scheduled to make the appointments at its meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 9.
