Closing: Suwa's Restaurant at Todos Santos Plaza

Japanese restaurant closed Saturday after 32 years. Plates, serving dishes, chairs and more are being sold off until Friday.

Downtown Concord has lost one of its few sushi restaurants.Β 

closed Saturday, and is now selling off some property.Β 

"It's sad to see an old business close, but I'm here buying," said Courtney McDonald, a Concord mother of three going through plates and dishes priced anywhere from 75 cents per piece to $5 dollars each.Β

The owners of the 2151 Salvio Street - just at the northern corner of Todos Santos Plaza - declined to comment, referring Patch to the following statement:

We regret to announce that Suwa's Restaurant will be closing its doors in June, due to lease expiration.Β
