Concord Man Suffers Major Injuries After Being Struck by Car
Man, 52, hit while crossing street Sunday night.

A man is clinging to life at a hospital after being struck by aΒ car while crossing a street in Concord Sunday evening, police said.
Officers responded to a report of a collision between a car andΒ pedestrian in the 4600 block of Clayton Road at about 6:15 p.m., police said.

The driver of a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt was traveling east onΒ Clayton Road and hit a 52-year-old Concord man who was crossing the streetΒ outside of the crosswalk, according to police.
The man was transported to John Muir Medical Center to be treatedΒ for injuries considered life-threatening, police said.

Clayton Road was closed for several hours as police investigatedΒ the site of the collision.
