Concord Police K9 Tracks Down Injured Hit-And-Run Suspect
After K9 Max located the suspect, police applied a tourniquet to the suspect's arm to control his severe bleeding.
CONCORD, CA — A Concord police K9 helped the Pittsburg Police Department track down an injured hit-and-run suspect over the weekend.
According to the Concord Police Department, the suspect was driving recklessly through Pittsburg on Sunday night when he ran a red light and collided with a passing car, causing major damage and severely injuring himself.
Following the crash, Concord police said the suspect fled the scene into a heavily wooded ravine.

Concerned about the suspects well-being and fearing he may succumb to his injuries in the heavily wooded area, the Pittsburg Police Department requested the assistance of the Concord Police Department's K9 unit.
K9 Max arrived on the scene and was able to trail right to the suspect, who was hiding in a dry creek bed, in the ravine and under a fallen tree.

Pittsburg officers had to immediately apply a tourniquet to the suspect's arm to control his severe bleeding. Paramedics met officers in a nearby parking lot and they took it from there.
"We are very proud to have been able to offer our services to our friends at the Pittsburg Police Department and help this young man from what could have been much worse," the Concord Police Department said via Facebook.
