Contra Costa Salon Owner Accused Of Raping Minor: Police

Police released a photo of 41-year-old Chi Ngoc Vu because they believe he may have victimized others.

CONCORD, CA β€” The owner of a Concord hair salon was arrested this week on suspicion of multiple counts of sexual assault of a minor, police said.

Chi Ngoc Vu, 41, was arrested Monday by Concord Police Department's Special Victims Unit on suspicion of sexual assaults police allege took place in his business, Chi Hair Salon, at 4701 Clayton Road.

The case was presented to the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office, which filed charges of forcible rape, unlawful sexual intercourse, forcible oral copulation, sodomy of a person younger than 16, and two counts of lewd acts on a child.

Vu remained in custody with his bail set at $275,000, police said Thursday.

"The Concord Police Department has reason to believe that Vu may have victimized others," Concord police Sgt. Chris Souza said. "We are releasing his booking photo and urge anyone with additional information to call Detective Huffmaster at 925-671-5080."
