Coroner Identifies 9-Year-Old Girl Killed In Contra Costa Crash
The girl was among six people in a Mazda SUV that overturned multiple times on I-680 near Concord, the California Highway Patrol said.
CONCORD, CA β The Coroner's Division of the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff has identified a child killed in a rollover crash early Sunday near Concord.
Her name was Danna Hernandez Tapia and she was 9 years old and out of Tualatin, Oregon, a suburb of Portland.

She was one of six people in a Mazda CX-9 that crashed shortly after 5 a.m. Sunday on I-680 at the I-242 split near Concord, the California Highway Patrol said.
Emergency personnel were alerted to the crash at 5:14 a.m. and found the Mazda on its roof with multiple occupants ejected from the car, CHP Officer Adam Lane said.

The SUV was traveling northbound on I-680 when it left the roadway, traveled through the dirt median that separates the two freeways, and overturned multiple times.
"Our initial investigation indicates several of the occupants were not wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash," Lane said.
Multiple passengers were ejected from the car and four females were rushed to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek for treatment of major injuries.
Danna suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the CHP, the driver, a Hispanic man around 30 years old, was at large after he walked away from the scene.
