County Offers Free Breast Exams for Uninsured Women
In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Contra Costa Health Services will provide screenings and mammograms at four centers, including Concord, for the first 40 women who visit on Thursday, Oct. 25.
As Breast Cancer Awareness Month draws to a close, Contra Costa Health Services is offering a day of free breast exams and mammograms for uninsured women.
The exams will be provided to the first 40 women to arrive between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at one of the four participating health centers on Thursday, Oct. 25.

- Philip Dorn Respite Center in Concord
- Contra Costa Regional Medical Center in Martinez
- Pittsburg Health Center in Pittsburg
- West County Health Center in San Pablo.
Women will be offered group discussion regarding wellness and cancer prevention while they await screenings, plus information about a clinical trial focused on breast cancer prevention using Vitamin D, according to Contra Costa Health Services.
There will also be healthy food to sample, as well as recipe ideas, cookbook giveaways and exercise tips.
