Fire Destroys Home Near Brentwood, Displacing Elderly Woman, Son
East Contra Costa County firefighters arrived and found the whole home burning.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA β A fire destroyed a home outside of Brentwood on Monday morning,
displacing the resident and his elderly mother, according to the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District. The fire at 3811 Concord Ave. was reported at 11:05 a.m., according to the fire district.
Firefighters arrived and found the whole home burning. They had difficulties entering at first because the flames were reaching a power line and had to wait until PG&E cut off power across the street, fire officials said.
Once the power was shut off, the firefighters were able to enter and extinguished the flames. But by then, the interior was destroyed and the outside sustained heavy damage. The residents, a renter who cares for his elderly mother, are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.
