Fire Extends To 2 Concord Homes

The so-called Gilardy Incident was reported at 1:13 p.m. Monday on Lambeth Lane.

CONCORD, CA β€” Two homes were damagedβ€” one extensivelyβ€” in a fire Monday afternoon in Concord, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District said.

Firefighters responded around 1:15 p.m. Monday to the incident in the 1800 block of Lambeth Lane β€” off Gilardy Drive β€” where an exterior fire started between two homes and extended into both.

One of the homes was uninhabitable because of extensive damage from the fire, Con Fire officials said.

The fire was extinguished by about 2:30 p.m. but crews remained on scene for several hours, fire officials said.

The exact number of people displaced was not known but no one was injured.

"Con Fire crews mitigated the #GilardyIC incident without any injuries," a Con Fire spokesperson said on social media. "All residents made it out of both homes safely. Con Fire wants to thank our citizens for their quick 911 calls. Calling 911 from outside an involved structure and never re-entering saves lives."
