Monday Night Murder-Suicide Investigated in Danville

Officers were dispatched to a home on Danville's Cross Bridge Place around 6:15 p.m. When they got there, fumes were smelled in the garage.

DANVILLE - Police are investigating the deaths of two Danville residents in an alleged murder-suicide Monday evening.

Officers were dispatched to a home on Cross Bridge Place around 6:15 p.m. to reports of fumes coming from a closed garage, according to police.

Upon arrival, police said officers entered the garage where they found a man, identified as Paul Sween, 63, lying unconscious.

Sween was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

During the investigation of the house, police said officers discovered a woman, Chalan Sween, 55, dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

A firearm was recovered from the scene.

The incident is under investigation and no further information has been made available at this time.
