Pilot Killed In Contra Costa County Crash

The airplane crashed on the edge of the runway at Byron Airport in far eastern unincorporated Contra Costa County, officials said.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA β€” A pilot was killed Saturday afternoon when an airplane crashed on the edge of the runway at Byron Airport in far eastern unincorporated Contra Costa County, officials said.

The crash occurred about 1:20 p.m. Saturday. The East Contra Costa Fire Protection District said the glider tow airplane crashed and burned, and that the pilot was the sole occupant of the plane. No one else was injured.
