Report Of Attempted Kidnapping Investigated In Concord: Police

Detectives were investigating suspicious circumstances involving a man who reportedly grabbed a girl's arm.

CONCORD, CA β€” The Concord Police Department is investigating a report of a man grabbing a girl as she walked to school in Concord.

It happened around 7:10 a.m. Wednesday, April 24 in a residential area at Nuala Street and Dartmouth Way. The girl reported that as she walked to school that morning, a man grabbed her arm while he tried to open the door to a parked car.

She fought the man off and notified staff at her school and the police. She was not hurt in the incident, police said.

The girl described the suspect as a 50-year-old shorter white man with a bald head and a heavy build. He was associated with a small black sedan.

Detectives from the Concord Police Department Special Victims Unit were actively working the case, canvassing the neighborhood and reviewing video surveillance, police said Thursday on social media.
