Suspected Mail Bandit Arrested This Morning

Some Clayton residents on and around North Mitchell Canyon Road woke up this morning and noticed something disturbingly peculiar — people were trying to steal their mail.

Clayton Police believe they caught one of the culprits.

An off-duty Concord police officer noticed someone hiding behind some bushes near his home. He called Clayton Police and they arrested a 33-year-old woman who was holding a bunch of mail that wasn't her own, said Clayton Police Chief Dan Lawrence.

Police are hoping the woman, who has been arrested on suspicion of stealing mail in the past, can shine light on who else was responsible for stealing people's mail this morning.
