Kidsave Hosting National Hike With Your Heart Event In LA
The nonprofit will hold a family-friendly hike to raise funds for older kids in foster care.

CULVER CITY, CA — The nonprofit Kidsave announced it will be hosting its National Hike With Your Heart in Los Angeles to raise funds for older kids in foster care.
The hike will take place at Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area near Culver City on Sept. 24. The fundraising goal for the event, according to the nonprofit, is $60,000.
"All funds raised will help older kids in foster care in Los Angeles County connect with caring adults, meet lifelong mentors, and find loving adoptive parents," a statement from the nonprofit said.

The outdoor event is Kidsave's premier fundraising and advocacy event. It started in 2015 as a chance to let people meet local kids in foster care as they enjoy the scenery on a leisurely hike.
Families, kids in the program, community members, hikers and even dogs are welcome at the event. The event will include games, meals, t-shirts and shoes for the kids as well as the hike.

It will run from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 24 and lunch will be provided for those who participate.
