Popular Culver City Starbucks Closes
The store at the Culver Center on Overland and Washington boulevards officially shut its doors on Saturday.
Customers hoping to get their morning shot of Java this past weekend at the store in the Culver Center on Overland and Washington boulevards were greeted instead with windows covered in brown paper with posters declaring “We’ll miss you…”
Patrons witnessed staff carrying out bags and boxes and when Patch visited on Sunday morning there were only three staff members in their traditional black shirts and pants wearing green Starbucks aprons. They were there to hand out fliers to patrons letting them know where their closest Starbucks store was.
Inside the store was already completely devoid of stock and a lone Starbucks employee was seen cleaning the sinks of the usually popular hangout.

The local (outgoing) manager told Patch that Starbucks simply “didn’t renew the lease” on the current premises and that patrons should head to the other Starbucks’ in Culver City, as noted on the flier.
The flier listed the locations at 9718 Washington Blvd. (at Culver Boulevard), 8985 Venice Blvd. (at Culver), and the store at 4114 Sepulveda Blvd. (the recently opened store at the corner of Washington Boulevard in the new “Culver Crossroads” Shopping Center).
