Widow Of Fallen Culver City Officer Loses House In Palisades Fire

CULVER CITY, CA — The widow of a fallen Culver City police officer was among those who lost her home in the Palisades Fire.
Melody Massey, her children and their dog are safe and staying in a Culver City hotel, according to a GoFundMe set up to support their recovery. Massey is the widow of Lt. Curt Massey, according to the Culver City Police Department.
"Everything she had, owned, cherished memories created in her home with Curt and the kids ... gone," reads the GoFundMe.

Lt. Curt Massey was killed while on duty in January 2009. His vehicle was struck head-on by a wrong-way driver, according to CCPD.
"Lt. Massey’s loss left Melody to raise their three young children on her own and a gaping hole in the hearts of so many. Now, Melody is navigating another challenging chapter, with her home destroyed and her family in need of our support," the department wrote on social media.
