• Dublin Superintendent Retiring (patch.com) — Dublin families are learning that DUSD Superintendent Chris Funk will retire in June 2026, after guiding the district through post‑COVID recovery, the opening of Emerald High School, and major budget challenges. Local leaders credit his steady leadership as he now focuses on a smooth transition and keeping student achievement and belonging at the center of Dublin schools.
   

• Dublin to oppose reopening women's prison for any detention operations (ktvu.com) — Dublin’s City Council is set to formally oppose any future use of the now-closed FCI Dublin women’s prison as a detention or correctional facility, including an ICE center. While largely symbolic, the resolution reinforces community concerns after past abuses and ongoing uncertainty over how the federal government will ultimately reuse or dispose of the property.
   

• Dublin among local police departments to receive funding to combat underage drinking (pleasantonweekly.com) — Dublin Police Services is one of six Bay Area departments receiving up to $30,000 in state funding to crack down on underage drinking and related harms. The grant, running through September 2026, will support decoy operations, fake ID enforcement, alcohol delivery compliance checks, and heightened holiday enforcement, all aimed at keeping alcohol away from minors in local communities.
