FREMONT, CA — Mission San Jose High School is the best high school in the Bay Area, the 8th best in California, and 80th best in the United States, according to the 2023-24 U.S. News and World Report Best High School Rankings.

The score is based on, among other factors:

  • How many students have taken at least one AP Exam (91%)
  • How many have passed at least one AP Exam (87%)
  • How many students are proficient in mathematics according to state assessments (93%)
  • How many students are deemed proficient in reading according to state assessments (95%)
  • How many students are deemed proficient in science according to state assessments (80%)
  • Graduation rate (96%)
