Some Downtown Fremont Roads Closed This Weekend Due To Festival

FREMONT, CA -- Walnut Avenue between Paseo Padre Parkway & Liberty Street in Fremont will be closed Saturday, Aug. 20 and Sunday, Aug. 21 due to a festival and parade.

The Festival of India takes place at the Fremont Court House and surrounding areas in Downtown Fremont on Saturday, August 20 and Sunday, August 21 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The parade takes place on Sunday, August 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The following roads will be closed on Sunday, August 21 from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the parade:

• Walnut Avenue – between Paseo Padre Parkway and Liberty Street
• Paseo Padre Parkway – between Mowry Ave and Stevenson Boulevard
• Liberty Street – between Capitol Ave and Beacon Avenue
• Capitol Avenue – between State St and Paseo Padre Parkway
• Kearny Street – between Stevenson Blvd and Liberty Avenue

Parking Lot Closure: The following parking lots will be closed on Sunday, August 21 from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for the parade:

• City Hall Parking Lot
• City of Fremont Family Resources Center (FRC) Parking Lot
• City of Fremont Development Services Center Parking Lot
