Woman Placed on Mental Health Hold After Allegedly Trying to Run Over Fremont Pedestrians

Police contacted the woman after reports that she was driving erratically, and shouting at herself and others.

Fremont, CA— A woman was placed on a mental health hold Thursday after allegedly attempting to run people over with her car in Fremont, police.

According to police, officers responded to the area of Fremont Boulevard and Sundale Drive on reports of a woman driving erratically, and shouting at herself and others.

Witnesses told police the woman allegedly attempted to hit several people in a crosswalk.Officers responded and were able to locate the vehicle near State Street before attempting to conduct a traffic stop.

A short pursuit ensued, however ended a short time later after officers followed the vehicle to Thornton Junior High School and the driver surrendered.
