2nd Victim Of Fatal Gilroy Crash Identified

A passenger who was riding in a vehicle that crashed along U.S. Highway 101 Sunday night, killing him and the driver, has been identified.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA -- A man riding in the passenger seat of a vehicle that crashed along U.S. Highway 101 Sunday night, killing him and the driver, has been identified as 65-year-old Javier Diaz of Watsonville, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office.

Javier Diaz was killed along with 49-year-old Gregorio Diaz, both of Watsonville.

The crash was reported at 10:51 p.m. May 14 on the highway near state Highway 25 just south of Gilroy, California Highway Patrol officials said.

It was not immediately clear what caused the crash.
