Deadly Gilroy Crash Claims Life Of Morgan Hill Man, CHP Reports

The CHP said it was raining when for some unknown reason the victim lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a guardrail on US Hwy. 101.

GILROY, CA -- A Morgan Hill man died in an early Monday morning crash on northbound U.S. Highway 101 in Gilroy, the California Highway Patrol reported.

CHP said the call that came in at 12:40 a.m. involved a 2007 Nissan Titan that veered off the west edge of the highway the near the junction with Monterey Road. For some unknown reason, the 27-year-old man lost control of his vehicle when it overturned and careened into a wood and metal guardrail at the center divider of the highway. The victim was pinned in the vehicle and succumbed to his injuries.

The case is under investigation. The Santa Clara County Coroner responded to the scene.
