Man Fatally Shot In Gilroy, Police Seek Witnesses

Two people in a vehicle were shot at multiple times Wednesday evening near the area of Monterey Street and Leavesley Road.

GILROY, CA — A Sacramento man was fatally shot in Gilroy on Wednesday evening near the area of Monterey Street and Leavesley Road, according to the Gilroy Police Department.

Two people in a vehicle were shot at multiple times between 5:45 p.m. and 6:15 p.m., according to police.

The 43-year-old man, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, died at the scene despite lifesaving efforts by law enforcement and paramedics. The other victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a local trauma center.

The victims drove to the 8200 block of Murray Avenue before calling for emergency assistance, according to police.

Detectives are asking for the public’s help in locating witnesses who may have seen reckless driving or potential road rage incidents in the area.
