No Fake News -- AI Program Available In Santa Clara Co. Libraries

The library district is the first to adopt the Yewno program, a likely region to provide artificial intelligence to its library patrons.

GILROY, CA -- No fake news here. Artificial Intelligence has tapped into the library district in Santa Clara County, the home of tech world.

Aptly so, Yewno, Inc., a leading provider of artificial intelligence solutions, announced Thursday that the district is the first public library system to adopt its Discover platform for its patrons to use in all its libraries.

Yewno Discover is an intuitive, cutting-edge research tool that's powered by artificial intelligence. From high schoolers to lifelong learners, public library patrons are certain to appreciate when they are conducting queries and given millions of possibilites to explore.

“Part of what has always attracted patrons to libraries is that we offer a free and non-biased collection of materials and services in which they can browse content, be inspired by ideas, and explore almost any subject," Director of Marketing & Communications Diane Roche said. "Discover is an intuitive, completely new way for our patrons to research areas of interest.”

Peter Leroe Munoz, the vice president of technology and innovation with the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, called the partnership "a natural fit" between the tech world and the region's public library system.

"This shows how AI -- machine learning -- is going to be a part of our lives in so many ways. Having this located in the heart of the Silicon Valley makes sense for them," he said.

The AI firm also sees the future in their hands -- and place it in a user who wants to navigate that world.

“In addition to helping patrons obtain the knowledge they are seeking, it can uncover new connections they might have not otherwise made," Co-founder Ruth Pickering said.
