Alleged Santa Rosa Bank Robber Appears In Court

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A Santa Rosa man pleaded not guilty in Sonoma County Superior Court Friday morning to the armed robberies of two Chase banks in Santa Rosa in September. Jason Richard Fuesz, 48, is charged with robbing the Chase bank at 2700 Yulupa Ave. on Sept. 13 and the Chase bank at 1301 Guerneville Road on Sept. 16.

Fuesz, who has five prior felony strikes for robbery and assault with a deadly weapon in 1995 and 2009, also is charged with burglary in the September bank robberies.

Santa Rosa police said the suspect in the robberies wore a black hooded sweatshirt with white embroidery on a breast pocket and a black bandana over his face. The robber was armed with a black handgun and carried
a paper bag with handles, police said.

Witnesses identified Fuesz as the robber and he was arrested on Nov. 27.

Jail records show Fuesz remains behind bars at a Sonoma County jail in lieu of $250,000 bail.

He has a preliminary hearing date scheduled for Jan. 18.
