Call For Artists Now: Healdsburg Foley Family Pavilion

HEALDSBURG, CA — The Foley Family Community Pavilion is in the final stage of construction after years of debating, planning, and building.

For the next stage — a public art installation — Healdsburg's Arts and Culture Commission is seeking a creator.

Commissioners are looking for an artist to create an installation that meshes with the site, signifies the area's agricultural history, celebrates the local community, and that is functional in the new space.

The visual format can be painting, photography, sculpture, technology, or other media.

The project's budget is $45,000.

The pavilion is meant to be a reminders of the region's agricultural past, which includes a cannery and warehouse that once stood on the site. The pavilion will house the Healdsburg Farmers Market, host local events, and offer cool shelter for people to relax on a hot summer day.

The artist selection includes two phases.

In phase 1, the request for qualifications process, artists will submit their qualifications.

A committee will ask a select number to submit a proposal.

Artists included in phase 2, will be receive a $1,000 stipend.

Deadline for submitting qualifications is December 3.
