Cops Chase Kawasaki Ninja At 140 MPH

After a hectic chase, Healdsburg police say suspect David Abraham Simon crashed, then ran. A police dog finally grabbed him.

HEALDSBURG - A motorcyclist led Healdsburg police Wednesday morning on a pursuit reaching 140 miles per hour on Highway 101 before crashing his bike at the Shiloh Road exit.

According to the Press Democrat, David Abraham Simon, 49, of Windsor, crashed the Kawasaki Ninja bike while exiting at the Highway101/Shiloh Road exit and ran, but was apprehended with the help of a sheriff’s dog.

The pursuit began at about 1:30 a.m. when a caller reported a reckless motorcyclist on Highway 101 exiting at Central Healdsburg. The paper says officers ended the pursuit after speeds reached about 140 mph.

Simon was ultimately found hiding in nearby bushes.

The Democrat says Simon was booked into the Sonoma County Jail on $30,000 bail on suspicion of felony evading law enforcement, reckless driving, resisting arrest, possessing drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license.
