Here are the top 3 stories in Healdsburg today:
- It's Election Day in Healdsburg! Meaning today's the final day to cast your votes in the 2022 California Primary. The folks we're electing this time around are a governor and lieutenant governor, a U.S. representative, a state and U.S. senator, a state assemblymember, a state attorney general, various other state officials such as a treasurer and controller, a couple of county judges, a county schools superintendent, a county supervisor and a sheriff. You can drop off your filled-out ballot at Healdsburg City Hall or vote in person at the Healdsburg Community Center until 8 p.m. tonight — or, if you're mailing it in, get it to the Healdsburg Post Office before it closes at 5 p.m. today. Still confused about what exactly you're deciding in today's election? Check out these voter guides from our county and state governments, plus this helpful piece from the Press Democrat on the "key Sonoma County elections appearing on Tuesday’s ballot." - Healdsburg's Memorial Bridge is looking extra beautiful this week after the city tricked it out with a bunch of rainbow-colored lights for Pride Month. Mayor Ozzy Jimenez says it was at his direction. "The bridge’s different colors originate from the Pride Flag and are meant to represent togetherness in all races, ages, and genders," the city posted on social media. "The bridge will be illuminated throughout June in recognition of Pride Month." Earlier this year, when the bridge was lit up purple for Valentine's Day, city officials said that "the illumination of the bridge was an $800 project, and we can reuse these light fixtures... in the future." Then, in March, they also lit the bridge in blue and yellow, the colors of the Ukrainian flag. Our out-and-proud mayor and the rest of the council celebrated Pride as well yesterday evening by raising a rainbow flag above City Hall. - A couple of intriguing Healdsburg homes just hit the market. The first is a 3-bedroom, 3-level condo inside that huge industrial warehouse-looking building on Grove Street near Dry Creek Road and the freeway, going for nearly $1.5 million. It's "deal for small business owners, investors, artists or enthusiasts of all kinds — car/motorcycle collectors, RV/Boat storage, hobbyist winemakers/brewers," the listing says, and includes "High-Bay garage space 26ft tall ceilings (which could be converted to a Jr.ADU), 3-phase power, 8 parking spaces, steam shower, fenced side yard" and more. The second home is kind of the opposite vibe: It's a gigantic old Victorian on a full half-acre of land along Tucker Street between University and 1st, pretty close to the river. The price tag is around $3.9 million. From the listing: "This offering consists of a 1908 vintage home w/ a lower level 4bd 2ba & an upper-level 3bd 2ba dwelling. Majestic redwoods interspersed on this sun-filled lot create an ideal in-town estate. The main home exudes original Victorian farmhouse charm w/ a wraparound porch & turret windows." And there's a separate whole house and "quaint studio cottage" on the property as well. (Healdsburg Patch)
