Healdsburg Opponents Resume Fight Against Fluoride In Water
Soundly defeated in a 2014 measure, local foes of the water additive try a different path this time around, seeking a moratorium.

HEALDSBURG - When it comes to talking about water in Healdsburg these days, there’s more to the conversation than words about El Nino.
Clean Water Sonoma-Marin is once again seeking to end fluoridation in Healdsburg, the only community in Sonoma County that uses the additive, according to the Santa Rosa Press Democrat.
In 2014, a ballot measure to rid fluoride from Healdsburg water was soundly defeated.

Now, the paper says Clean Water Sonoma-Marin is seeking a moratorium on the city’s use of fluoride until the City of Healdsburg provides a written statement indicating fluoride is safe to ingest.
Fluoride Free Healdsburg publishes a copy of the actual language included in the proposed 2016 initiative on their website.

The moratorium would be placed on the November ballot for voters to consider.
The group is also seeking to end fluoridation in Marin in a similar measure.
