Healdsburg's Safe Medicine Disposal is Saturday

Healdsburg residents may dispose of expired and unwanted medications in a safe and ecologically sound way from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 1381 University St., Healdsburg.

The free disposal event is part of a weeklong countywide program.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

1. Mark off personal information on the bottle
2. Place unwanted medications in a plastic bag (Recycle your empty pill bottles at home)
3. Keep liquids, ointments, lotions and creams in sealed containers
4. Please DO NOT mix-in sharps or needles with your waste medications. Sharps are a safety hazard to the collection site staff.

Prescription and over-the-counter -pills and capsules | Liquid medications, including ointments, lotions and creams (in sealed containers please!) | Veterinary medications | Vitamins, supplements, homeopathic remedies |
Medical patches | Medical samples | Inhalers (empty)

ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED

Controlled substances | IV bags |Bloody or infectious waste | Personal care products (body lotion, shampoo
etc.) Aerosol cans | Sharps | Thermometers | Illegal drugs | Medical marijuana | Any other waste or medication not listed under “Items Accepted”
