Sonoma County sheriff and fire crews airlifted a hiker from a secluded stretch of shore on the Pinnacle Gulch Beach Sunday.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Sonoma County sheriff and fire crews airlifted a hiker from a secluded stretch of shore on the Pinnacle Gulch Beach Sunday.
An ankle injury stranded the hiker down below on the beachfront.
Incoming tides, steep rocky terrain, and the distance to the nearest safe trail made hiking her out unsafe, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office.

The Sonoma County Sheriff's Henry-1 helicopter lifted a paramedic down to the beach while firefighters from the Sonoma County Fire District hiked in.
They treated the woman while a flight officer readied the aircraft with a 100-foot longline to lift her to an ambulance waiting above.
