Man Killed in River Road Crash ID'd

A 38-year-old Lakeport man was killed early Saturday in a crash on River Road in Sonoma County.

Alexander Campbell was pronounced dead at the scene  of the 4:10 a.m. crash, said California Highway Patrol Officer Marcus Hawkins.

Hawkins said Campbell was driving a black 2004 Dodge Durango eastbound on River Road just west of Odd Fellows Park Road. 

The Durango drifted off the south side of the roadway and collided directly with a tree. 

Hawkins said the collision scene had no skid marks. 

There was no evidence of other involved vehicles, Hawkins said.  There were no witnesses to the collision. 

Alcohol is yet to be determined as being a factor in this collision.  The accident is under investigation, Hawkins said.
