Air over Healdsburg:

Here are the top 3 stories in Healdsburg today:
- We could be getting our movie theater back soon, with slightly more indie fare. Local org AVFilm, previously known as the Alexander Valley Film Society, is "actively working to find a way to bring cinema back to Healdsburg," according to the Tribune. They're reportedly "exploring options to have a theater that is two-thirds for commercial screening of mainstream films and one-third for community-based events and showcasing of more artistic cinema." It's still unclear whether they'll be able to use the old Raven Theater space, but it is included in the org's feasibility study. They're also looking at other venues — including possible outdoor ones. But in either case, "AVFilm plans to pursue creation of a movie theater regardless if they are able to get the Raven Theater or not," the Trib reports. Godspeed! (SoCoNews Healdsburg)
- Several shots were fired over the weekend on Ward Street near the railroad tracks, according to Healdsburg police. They "received several calls of gunshots being heard on Ward St. near the tracks followed by a vehicle speeding away towards Healdsburg Ave," the department says. "Police arrived and located several spent bullet casings on the ground on Ward St. There were no reported injuries or property damage as a result of the shooting." Now they're looking for the people responsible, and are circulating some surveillance pics of the "vehicle suspected to have been involved in the incident." It's described as a "light colored newer model full sized pickup truck." Here's what to do if you think you see it. (Facebook)
- The Sonic internet company has announced the "exciting news" that they're expanding their "10 Gigabit Fiber" option into Healdsburg, "bringing you the fastest most affordable internet available." The service is now available to pre-order for Healdsburg residents for around $40 to $50 per month. Back in December, Sonic's CEO and co-founder Dane Jasper — who happens to live in Healdsburg — hinted in the "What's Happening Healdsburg" Facebook group that the new service was coming. In the comments, a number of neighbors asked if the service would reach our town's more rural edges. Dane's answer at the time: "Sorry, not yet!" But he added that "if we get really strong uptake in town, that'd make expansion more likely." You can enter your address on the Sonic website to see if you're in reach.
