  1. Healdsburg Police Department carried out operations on Monday morning in the 1 - 20 block of Matheson Street, according to a Nixle alert issued by the city of Healdsburg shortly after 11 a.m. Citizens were urged to steer clear of the area until further notice. While specific details were not disclosed, the city assured residents that there was no immediate threat to public safety. (Healdsburg Patch)
  2. Ahead of their inaugural hotel launch next year, Appellation, co-founded by Chef Charlie Palmer and Christopher Hunsberger, is introducing an immersive Crafted at Appellation program in Sonoma County. The program will feature a series of 10 classes over four months, immersing attendees in local artisan crafts, from block printing to wreath making. This initiative emphasizes Appellation's philosophy of blending culinary and hospitality experiences, which will continue with over 50 annual classes once the Appellation Healdsburg hotel opens. (Healdsburg Patch)
  3. To enhance voting accessibility, Sonoma County has embraced the Voter's Choice Act, transitioning to a new model that involves mailing ballots to all registered voters while providing a broader range of in-person voting options. The public is now invited to review and comment on the County’s Election Administration Plan, a blueprint for upcoming voting processes, through various channels until July 11, and two virtual public meetings are scheduled on July 10 and 11 to discuss the plan and address questions. To foster transparency and public participation, the county will iteratively revise the plan based on received feedback before its final adoption, and all versions of the plan will be made available to the public in English and Spanish at SoCoVotes.com.
