Clark Street Diner To Open At Former 101 Coffee Shop Location
The bakery's fifth Los Angeles location will be at an iconic Hollywood location, which has appeared in "Swingers" and "Entourage."
HOLLYWOOD, CA โ A new diner will soon take up residence in the familiar setting of 101 Coffee Shop. Clark Street Bread announced they will open their fifth Los Angeles location, Clark Street Diner, at the popular location at 6145 Franklin Ave.
The diner will begin by serving breakfast and lunch, before expanding to dinner and hopefully late night once things get going. Owner Zack Hall told diners to expect a "warm and lively space" at the former 101 Coffee Shop location.
"Clark Street Diner will be a traditional American diner serving up pancakes, hash browns, and the like," Hall said. "Weโll also be expanding our pastry offerings to include American classics like pecan sticky buns and home made pies. We will continue to source high quality ingredients like we do for our bakery, so expect Organic and local where possible."

The bakery also has operations in Echo Park, Brentwood and Grand Central Market. The Hollywood location is expected to open in the fall, owners said.
In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, 101 Coffee Shop announced in January they would permanently close. The coffee shop had laid off their entire staff at the start of the pandemic expecting to reopen in a few weeks, but that never came as the pandemic continued to grow at a devastating pace.

"20 years of serving you, running to get your eggs, waffle brownie sundae celebrations, late night coffee dates, screenplays written, surprise engagements," wrote Stacy Fratelli, a former manager. "Couples have met here and returned to renew their vows. Kids have grown up here and now come back with their own kids. It's impossible to put into words what this place has meant to so many."
The mid-cen, "Googie"-era diner on Franklin left its mark on Hollywood as scene settings for the 1996 film "Swingers," along with episodes of "Entourage" and "Gilmore Girls."
