WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA โ A fire that broke out at a Sunset Boulevard building Tuesday morning quickly spread to brush in the adjacent Hollywood Hills.
The fire broke out before 10 a.m. at a building at 8481 Sunset Blvd., immediately north of La Cienega Boulevard. It quickly spread to at least a quarter acre of brush in the hills behind the building, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The blaze advanced north toward homes on Queens Way in Hollywood Hills West. Crews staged structure-protection units help prevent the flames from impacting other buildings.

Forward progress was stopped by 11 a.m., at which time the fire has burned about 3 acres, NBC 4 reported.
Another, much larger fire, broke out around the same time in Pacific Palisades. That fire grew to 200 acres within an hour and has prompted evacuation orders on the Westside. That blaze is the source of the huge plume of smoke that can be seen across Los Angeles.

The fires broke out as the Southland braces for what the National Weather Service predicts "will likely be the most destructive windstorm" in over a decade. Low humidity and wind gusts of up to 100 mph in some areas are expected to cause extreme wildfire danger.
