Movie fans, it’s time to get excited for Hollywood’s biggest night of the year. On Sunday, the 94th Academy Awards will shine a spotlight on the best movies of 2021.

This year, the Oscars promises yet another evening to remember when Regina Hall, Amy Schumer and Wanda Sykes take center stage as the first trio of women ever to host the prestigious awards show.

Thirty-eight feature films are in contention for the 2022 Academy Awards, and the Best Picture race is shaping up to be a showdown between two films from streaming services. Can Apple TV+’s “CODA” pull off an upset victory over Netflix’s heavily favored “The Power of the Dog”?

Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem, one of cinema’s real-life married couples, both scored Academy Awards nominations in 2022. Cruz is nominated for Best Actress for her role in “Parallel Mothers,” while her husband is nominated for Best Actor for his role as Desi Arnaz in “Being the Ricardos.” Can the power couple both prevail and make Oscars history together in the same year?

The 2022 Oscars will bestow a brand-new award called “Oscars Fan Favorite Award,” which will be decided by a popular vote held on Twitter. Will the winner get an actual Oscar statue?

Where And When To Watch The 2022 Oscars

“The Oscars Red Carpet Show” on ABC at 3:30 p.m. PDT/6:30 p.m. EDT

If you're looking for the latest scoops on fashion trends and winner predictions, then you'll want to tune into the official lead-in special to the 94th Oscars this Sunday. Watch your favorite stars walk the red carpet in their glamorous splendor, with hosts Vanessa Hudgens, Terrence J and Brandon Maxwell. The show will also feature a special appearance by DJ M.O.S.

See if your predictions ring true as the 94th Academy Awards show takes place in Los Angeles at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood (formerly the Hollywood and Highland Center), broadcasted live on ABC by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. For those without access to a TV, the awards ceremony can also be streamed live through ABC's website or on their Android/iOS app or other streaming services, such as Hulu Live TV, YouTubeTV, AT&T TV and FuboTV.

The Performances

The songs nominated for Best Song this year will be performed live at the awards show. Beyoncé will sing “Be Alive” from “King Richard,” while Sebastián Yatra will perform “Dos Oruguitas” from “Encanto.” Billie Eilish and FINNEAS are also set to perform “No Time To Die” from “No Time to Die,” while Reba McEntire will sing “Somehow You Do” from “Four Good Days.”

“Down to Joy” by Van Morrison from “Belfast” is also among the nominees. However, the song won’t be performed during the broadcast because Morrison is unable to attend the event.

Finally, an all-star band featuring the show’s music director Adam Blackstone, blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, percussionist and singer Sheila E. and genre-spanning pianist Robert Glasper is also slated to perform.
