Uyghur Film "The Secret of Immortal" Selected for UMFF

On March 7, 2025, the suspense - adventure film The Secret of Immortal, written and directed by Bu Yixian, was successfully shortlisted for the main competition unit of the Universal Multicultural Film Festival. This is another appearance on the international stage after winning the "Golden Angel Award" at the 18th China - US Film Festival, showing the magnificent scenery and ethnic cultural charm of Xinjiang, China, to the global audience.

The Chinese film The Secret of Immortal is a Xinjiang road adventure film written and directed by Bu Yixian, produced by Xu Qianqian, and starring young actors Lu Hong and Yang Kaidi. It tells a story interwoven with various elements such as emotions, youth, suspense, and human nature.

A hundred years ago, an archaeological expedition team perished in the mysterious land of Xinjiang, leaving behind only a rumor. A hundred years later, Ma Siyu, the daughter of Ma Wenjun (a researcher of Manas culture), went to the Western Regions to explore the secrets of her father's life. At the same time, the wealthy businessman Qian Wanli coerced the members of the "Xiaoye Band" to go to the Western Regions to seize the treasures in the mysterious land for him. By a strange twist of fate, the two groups of people formed a team and embarked on an adventure journey in the Western Regions.

The special effect scenes in the film are all from Xinjiang, including many scenic areas such as the Tianshan Mountains, the Gurbantunggut Desert, the Shihuyao Grand Canyon, and the Manas National Wetland Park. Drawing on the beautiful scenery and local customs of Xinjiang, the new generation of directors and actors dedicated themselves to creating a wonderful story that conveys a unique culture and mystery to the whole society and even overseas.

At 18:56 on November 30, 2023, Muhashi Yusup, the son of Jusup Mamay, the inheritor of the Kirghiz epic Manas, and his grandson Toknaly Tursunali jointly authorized Bu Yixian, the screenwriter and director, to jointly develop the epic film series about the hero Manas with Xinjiang Ama Film Industry!

With the successive awards won by the film The Secret of Immortal, it confirms the potential of Chinese films to "go global"! It is expected to land on overseas streaming media platforms by the end of 2025, allowing more international audiences to appreciate the charm of Chinese stories. The global distribution plan of the film is also being prepared. Bu Yixian, male, formerly known as Wang Tie, was born in Ganfang Town, Fengxin County, Jiangxi Province in 1980. He is a director, singer, and actor. His main works include The Secret of Immortal and Thank You for Your Tolerance.

In 2015, Bu Yixian won the "Best Actor" award at the 11th CHSFF Short Film Festival in Hollywood, the United States, for the short film The Legend of Ghost Street which he wrote and starred in. The trophy of the best actor in a short film firmly established Bu Yixian's thinking and acting skills in the international market. In 2016, he wrote and directed the online film I'm Not a Rough Guy. In 2017, he wrote and directed the micro film Chastity · The Truth, and the public welfare film Care won the second prize of the national public welfare short film. In 2018, he wrote and directed his first theater film The Secret of Immortal: The Lost Mysterious Land for the first time. In 2019, he wrote and directed the main theme theater film The Police Badge. In 2020, he wrote and directed the theater film Your Sky. In 2021, he wrote and directed the promotional film National Security Police: Protecting You with Their Backs for the first Chinese People's Police Day, which was included in the resources of the Ministry of State Security.

On March 19, 2022, the film The Secret of Immortal was released nationwide and won the "Golden Angel" Award for the International Communication of Chinese Culture at the 18th China-US Film Festival, triggering a "Xinjiang tourism craze" and contributing to the cultural nourishment of Xinjiang.
