What's New On Netflix: May 2022

Remember those sweet April showers, streamer fans? Well, they have certainly made way for the arrival of long-anticipated originals in Netflix land. So, get excited and make every second count this May as you bask in the glow of splendid streaming.

“Stranger Things” fans, your long wait is over! After a three-year hiatus, Part 1 of the fantasy juggernaut’s Season 4 finally arrives on May 27, with teens Eleven, Lucas, Dustin, Mike, Will and Max all set to face any nightmares the Upside Down brings.

Other much-awaited original series making their screen debuts this month include a TV adaptation of Michael Connelly’s bestseller, “The Lincoln Lawyer,” as well as Mike Myers’ new comedy series “The Pentaverate.”

Netflix also welcomes a number of highly anticipated original films. One is “Senior Year,” a comedy in which Rebel Wilson plays a high school cheerleader who wakes up after a 20-year-long coma as a woman determined to become prom queen.

Another is “Operation Mincemeat,” a World War II drama about the British deception effort that eventually led to the Allied invasion of Sicily in 1943. The film, based on a true story, stars Colin Firth and Matthew Macfadyen as two intelligence officers who concoct and carry out the operation of disguise.

Looking for a stirring teen romance drama? Look no further than “Along the Ride,” starring Emma Pasarow and Belmont Cameli as a pair of teenagers spending their summer together before college.

Must-stream classics also abound this month. Don’t miss “A River Runs Through It,” “Crazy, Stupid, Love,” “Dirty Harry,” “Forrest Gump” and “When Harry Met Sally.”

Finally, fans of South Korean dramas can check out "The Sound of Magic," which could become the next "Squid Game" phenom.
