• Deputies looking for missing 81-year-old Imperial Beach woman (10news.com) — An 81-year-old Imperial Beach resident, Lijuan Cui, is missing after leaving her home on the 700 block of 13th Street around 7 a.m. Tuesday and not returning. She speaks only Mandarin, has no phone, and is unfamiliar with public transit. Deputies urge anyone who has seen her to call 911 or the sheriff’s office immediately.
   

• The US is committed to cleaning up Tijuana River pollution. Will California follow through? (kpbs.org) — Imperial Beach remains at the center of the Tijuana River pollution crisis, with its shoreline closed for three years and a major airborne pollution hot spot at Saturn Boulevard. Federal and state leaders are investing in wastewater upgrades, revisiting air-quality standards, and planning a county health study. Local officials are also pushing to remove the Saturn Boulevard culverts and expand air purifier distribution.
   

• Port of San Diego Expands With 100 Acres of Land and 8,000 Acres of Bay (obrag.org) — Imperial Beach’s bayfront is directly affected as the Port of San Diego finalizes a new Trust Lands Use Plan expanding its authority over 8,000 acres of bay and land. The plan keeps nearby salt ponds in conservation, allows limited recreation upgrades along the Bayshore Bikeway connection to the Silver Strand, and sets rules for aquaculture, boating, and existing leases through at least 2026.
