• Port approves plan for 8,000 acres of expanded territory in San Diego Bay (sandiegouniontribune.com) — Imperial Beach residents could see subtle changes along the Bayshore Bikeway as the Port’s newly approved Trust Lands Use Plan designates the five-acre link to the Silver Strand for low-impact recreation improvements like seating, art, and signage. The plan also expands Port authority over 8,000 bay acres, protecting salt ponds and conservation areas in South Bay while enabling aquaculture and continued maritime uses elsewhere in San Diego Bay.
