La Mesa-Spring Valley Schools Closed Tuesday Due To Flooding

"We realize this is an impact to your families, and apologize for the inconvenience," the district said in a statement.

LA MESA, CA — Schools in the La Mesa-Spring Valley School District will be closed Tuesday due to flooding caused by the storm that drenched the San Diego region Monday, the district announced.

Flooding "significantly impacted" many of the school sites, particularly the campuses in Spring Valley, according to the district. Although district staff responded to flooding concerns and will continue to address the issues through the evening, schools will be closed Tuesday to ensure classrooms and campuses are clean and safe for students to return.

"We realize this is an impact to your families, and apologize for the inconvenience," the district said in a statement. "However, the safety of our students and staff is our highest priority."
