Star Student: 'Responsible, Respectful, Intelligent, Inquisitive'
This La Mesa-Mount Helix student maintains his academics and volunteers to help teach others. Read more about his efforts below.
LA MESA - MOUNT HELIX, CA — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?
Troy maintains his academics, volunteers to help teach others, and works part time. He has volunteered to help new students to the U.S. improve their language skills, he also volunteers at a middle school as an assistant archery coach.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?
Troy is responsible, respectful, intelligent, inquisitive-always trying to improve his knowledge and skill set Troy is able to communicate clearly with youngsters, peers, and adults, that in itself is impressive !
