LONG BEACH, CA — A man died after being shot in Long Beach on Monday evening, prompting a homicide investigation, police say. Officers <a href="https://www.longbeach.gov/police/news/lbpd-blotter-jan-13-2026/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">responded to a report of a shooting</a> in the 2300 block of East Artesia Boulevard just before 7:30 p.m., the Long Beach Police Department said. After arriving, officers found a man with a life-threatening injury, police said. Long Beach Fire Department rescuers took the man to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police. The suspect fled before officers arrived, police said, adding that an investigation is ongoing.
