Residential Burglars Escape Mountain View Police After Chase; Suspects Still Being Sought
Mountain View police are looking for two suspects who led officers on a pursuit after fleeing the scene of an attempted home burglary.

SOUTH BAY, CA -- Police are looking for two suspects who escaped after leading officers on a brief pursuit after fleeing the scene of an attempted residential burglary in Mountain View on Thursday.
Officers responded to the 1000 block of Marilyn Drive around 11:30 a.m. March 23 on a report of two men entering a garage through an unlocked side door.
The caller reportedly startled the suspects, who turned and left, fleeing the scene in a dark gray Toyota Highlander with paper plates.

Officers in the area spotted the vehicle and followed it, according to police.
The driver sped up, went north on state Highway 237, then took U.S. Highway 101 to northbound Interstate Highway 280 before exiting at Bird Avenue in San Jose, police said.

Mountain View police terminated the pursuit and notified the California Highway Patrol and San Jose Police Department about the incident.
Both suspects are described as Hispanic men with black hair in their late teens or early 20s. The driver was wearing a black sweatshirt and the passenger was wearing a red sweatshirt.
Police are asking anyone who might have security camera footage in the neighborhood where the burglary was reported to contact them at (650) 903-6344.
