NAPA, CA — Napa's annual Climate-Friendly Garden Tour is Saturday, May 18, and features 11 local gardens as inspiration for creating resource-efficient landscaping.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., see the beautiful, vibrant, climate-smart and climate-wise yards that incorporate a variety of sizes and styles. Tourgoers will encounter eye-catching, drought-tolerant, native plants; pollinator habitats, edible gardens, smart irrigation and rainwater catchment. Soil health practices will be emphasized and there is a free compost giveaway.

Tourgoers will benefit from three mini-workshops on soil tilling, water absorption and irrigation conversion. With Napa's highly variable climate, doing more with less water is a key theme. Several hosts are do-it-yourselfers who earned "Cash For Grass" rebates after removing unneeded high-water-use lawns.
