Fortunately, there is no shortage of organizations to volunteer or get behind financially, and that need your help.
Here are five outstanding nonprofit groups you should know about in the Napa Valley area:

1. Napa Valley Community Foundation works side by side with local donors and nonprofits to tackle the most important challenges the Valley faces. NCVF has five community impact areas: Invest in Youth, which prepares children and youth (ages 3-24) to succeed in school and improves their chances of becoming confident and contributing adults; Fight Poverty, which supports its Valley neighbors in meeting basic needs and addresses innovative affordable housing solutions; Champion Community, which empowers residents to feel more secure and engaged in the future of the community; Meet the Moment, which helps the most vulnerable in the community recover from and prepare for declared disasters in Napa County; and Support our Leadership, which enables it to tackle the challenges in the region through research, dialogue and strategic grantmaking. 2. Collective Napa Valley is the philanthropic branch of Napa Valley Vintners. The nonprofit is committed to being good stewards of the environment and to helping build a stronger, better, healthier community. Its history of fundraising for the good of the community began with the founding of Auction Napa Valley in 1981. For 40 years, the annual June event combined the allure of Napa Valley wine, the region’s iconic scenery, vintner hospitality and meaningful philanthropy. 3. The Salvation Army has North Bay locations in Napa, Petaluma and Santa Rosa. The international organization is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church and strives to meet needs without discrimination. The Napa Corps offers food box distribution twice a week, daily dine-in lunch service, and assistance with rent and utility bills. 4. Napa Valley Education Foundation serves all 20,000 students and 1,000 educators in Napa County’s public school system. Its mission is to inspire Napa Valley public school students to broaden their horizons, deepen their knowledge and develop skills to become confident, healthy and successful people in their community. The Napa Valley Education Foundation fosters community support and private funding for public school programs that create excellence in College & Career Readiness, Music Education, Youth Wellness, and Classroom Innovation. 5. We Care Animal Rescue has been committed since 1982 to improving the quality of life for companion animals in Napa Valley by providing shelter, compassionate care and community resources. As a no-kill shelter, it never euthanizes its residents due to concerns about housing space or extended stay. The animal sanctuary is committed to lifelong care and only considers euthanasia when an animal’s quality of life is extremely poor and all other options are exhausted.
